Live Edge Walnut with Extensions (Company Boards)
A beautiful 8’ heirloom table made from bookmatched claro walnut. The figure in this table made for an extremely nice and tedious build. Taking our time every step of the way and examining from every angle. Using touch to feel any inconsistencies within the wood. Planing and sanding until we achieved the smoothest finish possible. With the extensions this piece finishes at 10’ long x 48-50” wide.
This bookmatch features 2 live edge claro walnut slabs from the same tree. We used black resin to fill voids on the top and bottom. Claro walnut bow-ties were used to strengthen and reinforce cracks within each slab. There are 6 on the bottom and 4 on the top. Here is a quick video showcasing the method we use for inlaying our bow-ties:
Company boards were custom made for this table from claro walnut as well. We fabricated the custom connections for these in house. They are sleek and minimal. They give the live edge table a little extra seating during the holidays without taking away from the design. The metal also goes great with the black omega cast iron by Ares Iron.
Live Edge Slabs Available for Tables
Let’s start the conversation here. We can talk about the base after…
Live edge walnut bookmatch with some amazing figure and color. Some cracks and voids need to be addressed with epoxy or wood patch work. This set is about 99” long x 68” wide and 2.5” thick (We can trim these down to make a top that is functional south of 4’ wide).
Live Edge Walnut Conference Table
Bring a little nature into your work for more balance. This particular piece was made from 1 single tree. It consists of (4) 10’ sequentially sawn live edge walnut slabs. The idea behind this end for end bookmatch was to allow the ends to grain match so they looked seamless when put together. The build on this table was complicated and challenging. But, thats what a conference room is for right? Overcoming obstacles and finding a way to make something incredible!

You just have to pay for your materials (have to buy from us). If things go well we will add more throughout the year. See details below:
Course Offering
- Slab coffee table - We will give you a $50 credit to purchase the slab that you like best. I will work with you to create something that fits your space and design aesthetic. Why you should come out
Have you ever experienced furniture being made? Creating beautiful heirloom tables and furniture from one solid tree is something everyone should see for themselves. It will change the way you see furniture forever.
What to expect on arrival?
At the time of me writing this post, we still have no sign on the building. That said, if you use Google Maps it will bring you directly to us and I put a photo of main entrance on Google. Now lets get down to the nitty gritty details:)
A large selection of lumber is always our first priority. After we mill the trees at our sawmill and dry them to 5-10% moisture, they come to "chill" in our showroom. You can pick out the slab/boards that you like with me right there saying "This tree came from a guy named mike, he was a good guy and we took the tree because he wanted to plant a garden". The stories are free. If you want to peruse by yourself thats cool, Ill stay busy until you're ready to talk. Saturdays can be crazy, so if you want my undivided attention I recommend making an appointment. Music is a must for the woodshop (I like Mumford and sons and Bon Iver) so thats whats normally playing.
What kind of furniture do we make/sell?
The good kind. Heres a quick list of tables we make and have for sale on a regular basis:
- Traditional Farm Tables with 4 legs, aprons and breadboard ends
- Slab Table with/without live edge (Single Board, No glueup, Tree Slice)
- Live edge Book matched table tops and cast iron bases
- Wood Slab Queen and King sized beds
- Modern Windsor Chairs by O&G
- Benches and stools
Delivery?
We do have some things that are grab and go but for the most part its small batch production WIP (works in progress). Lead time is 4-6 weeks which is down from 8-10 Weeks, woot woot!!! We off white glove service that can be purchased. Shop pickup is free.
Things to do when you visit?
Let me know if you find anything?!?! If you're like me, the only thing on your mind is "where can I eat"? Here are my recommendations:
Breakfast: Pan'e Dolcetti - Really bomb tomato Mozzarella sandwich on homemade focaccia bread and coffee to boot.
Lunch/Dinner: Pinnochios Three Rivers - Literally right over the bridge from the warehouse. Great Italian food. A little carboload for the ride home (Someones falling asleep for sure).
We are 15 minutes away from Brimfield Antique Flea Market, so definitely plan on swinging by before or after you head out to that flea market jazz.

We have some large trees coming through the yard soon. 42" x 10' longs slabs of Butternut are in the works, as well as some large Walnut slabs. There is still time to get in on these but hurry, as the list is filling up fast.
The Nyle Kiln is running now until mid-August. If you would like to throw in some lumber in our next run please let me know. We should have some 2"Walnut and Butternut in there.
We will be showcasing our new line and slabs at the Fine Furnishing show in Pawtucket RI on November 4-6 2016. If you're interested in going let me know, I have some VIP passes I can give you. We will also be having an after party, so stay tuned for more on that (might just end up at Doherty's).
We still have a good amount of Wormy Ambrosia Maple. Please let me know if your interested as it would make beautiful flooring, paneling, or cabinetry. $2-$3 board foot.
Thanks as always for the support and we cant wait to hear from you soon!
Cheers!
